The story of Gundal Wada
Gundal Wada is a heritage property near Pune that brings the rich history of Maharashtra to life. It is built in the traditional wada style, the grand mansion popular in the Maratha and Peshwa eras, with classic stone walls, wooden pillars and a big open central courtyard, the chowk, that keeps the house cool and bright.
While many old historic homes have faded away, Gundal Wada has been carefully protected and restored. Today it connects the past with the present as a cultural studio: vintage rooms and majestic royal looks that make it the perfect backdrop for traditional Indian photoshoots, festivals and family celebrations.

A wada is not a hall with decoration applied. It is rooms arranged around open sky, which is what gives a shoot several different backdrops within a few steps.
An open central chowk, sunken and stone-paved, with a tulsi vrindavan at its heart and sky directly above.
A carved wooden arcade on stone bases, running the length of the courtyard. Deep shade at midday, low light at either end of the day.
Cusped arches in lime plaster, a jharokha balcony, and a stone well in the outer court.

Three steps from first message to a confirmed date. Festival dates go early, Sankranti and the Haldi season especially, so it is worth asking well ahead.

Pick a wada and a package
Wada 1 in Bhosari or Wada 2 at Vadhu. Sessions and prices are listed in the rate card above.

Dates go first come, first served, and are held once the 50% advance is paid.
Rules & regulations
नियम
The house rules
The terms every booking runs on, from the deposit to the cancellation policy, agreed before the date is locked, so the day itself stays smooth.
- A ₹10,000 deposit is taken in advance, towards the safety and cleanliness of the property.
- Check-in is from 6 am to 7 pm sharp. Extra charges apply for extra time.
- Burning fire and firecrackers are not allowed in and around the Gundal Wada premises.
- Alcohol, drugs and smoking are strictly prohibited in and around the Gundal Wada premises.
- Decoration is allowed only on the pillars of the chowk (courtyard) and the outer side of the wada.
- We have a panel of event organizers - you can plan your décor and event through them.
- Please take care of your children and family members; we will not be responsible for any harm, accidents or incidents due to manmade mistakes or natural calamities.
- Please take care of your belongings. If anything goes missing, Gundal Wada will not be responsible.
- Please confirm your menu and event details 15 days prior to your event.
- We expect the property returned clean and neat, as it was handed over before the event. If the property is not left in a clean state, money will be deducted from the deposit.
- For a successful and enjoyable event, 50 people fit in comfortably. More than 50 makes crowd and management difficult; extra charges apply, as extra manpower is needed for the event.
- All these terms and conditions exist so that your event runs smoothly. Team Gundal Wada will help you towards a successful and enjoyable event.

- Event dates are booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
- 50% advance is to be paid at the time of booking.
Cancellation of reservation
Before you pay the advance
- The amount is non-refundable. If informed 60 days prior to the booking date, ₹25,000 will be deducted from the advance and the remaining amount will be adjusted against a next booking within 2 months (subject to availability of dates).
- The entire balance amount should be paid 15 days prior to your event.
